Important Note: Although this race is normally held in good weather, entrants should wear footwear suitable for slippery underfoot conditions, this means trail or ideally fell shoes. The race director will assess conditions on the day and will if the weather dictates only permit runners to take part who have brought at least a windproof running jacket. If the weather on the day is exceptionally severe, windproof leggings may also be required.

Fell races are run on steep, loose, uneven and unpredictable terrain, although the race director has made every effort to clear the course of excessive vegetation, potential participants who have no experience of off-road, trail type conditions would be advised to practice to some extent before committing to a race.
